Monocore reflects Gothic Audio’s approach to cable making: select quality materials, give every connection careful attention, and finish each cable to a standard we are proud to put our name on.
Developed for the connection between tonearm and phono stage, Monocore combines a sixteen-core copper construction with FEP insulation and our distinctive woven outer sleeving.

A closer look inside

Beneath the sleeving are 16 individual 28 AWG conductors, organised into four groups of four. Each group is connected in parallel to its respective signal pin, carrying the left channel, right channel and their separate returns. Using four conductors for each connection increases the total copper cross-section and reduces conductor resistance compared with a single 28 AWG wire of equal length.

High-purity copper throughout
Every core is made from 5N OCC copper, with a purity of 99.999%. The Ohno Continuous Casting process produces copper with a long crystal structure and fewer grain boundaries than conventional copper.

FEP around every core
Each of the sixteen conductors has its own FEP insulation. This durable fluoropolymer offers low dielectric loss and stable insulating properties, keeping the individual copper cores electrically separated along their length.

Made with care in Manchester
Monocore is hand-built by Gothic Audio in Manchester, with close attention to wire preparation, termination and assembly. The black and silver woven sleeve gives the finished cable a distinctive appearance that complements its carefully considered construction.Drawing on our cable-making experience since 2009, Monocore brings together substantial copper content, quality insulation and hands-on British workmanship.
