Solid copper contacts in both male and female XLR connectors are rare, only a few manufacturers in the world are making them. These connectors from AECO contain machined Tellurium Copper contacts with high quality silver plating.
Two cable entry diameters are achieved with a removable plastic insert, fine adjustment can be further made for a good fit with the use of heatshrink.

Entry diameter 8.5mm, without sleeve is 12.5mm with sleeve

There is no latching mechanism on the female but these are a very nice fit in any other manufacturer you can think of thanks to the accuracy of the production.
