Description

SDIN / SME-Style 5-Pin Tonearm Connector — 90° Right-Angle

Purpose-built for SME-pattern tonearm sockets found on Roksan, Jelco, Linn and many similar arms,
this right-angle SDIN plug gives a clean, low-profile cable exit where vertical space is tight —
ideal under suspended sub-chassis and close-fitting plinths. The connector uses the standard
5-pin 240° SDIN arrangement with clearly spaced solder cups and a
locking collar for a secure, low-resistance connection.

Highlights

  • 90° right-angle body for neat, strain-reduced routing
  • SME-pattern / SDIN 5-pin, 240° geometry
  • Easy soldering — separate cups for L/R hot & return
  • Dedicated arm/chassis ground pin
  • Knurled locking collar ensures a firm mechanical mate
  • Cable clamp for strain relief inside the shell

What’s in the box

  • 1× 90° SDIN / SME-style 5-pin tonearm plug
  • Shell with locking collar + internal strain relief
  • Simple wiring guide (below)

Common SDIN 5-Pin Mapping

Pin Function Notes
1 Left + (L hot) Signal
2 Left − (L return) Cold/return
3 Right + (R hot) Signal
4 Right − (R return) Cold/return
5 Arm/Chassis Ground Separate earth to preamp ground post

Important: Some manufacturers swap returns or ground conventions. Always verify your tonearm’s
documentation and continuity before soldering.

Installation

  1. Slide the shell & collar onto the cable first.
  2. Strip and tin each conductor (keep leads short).
  3. Solder to the cups for L+, L−, R+, R− and connect the separate ground to Pin 5.
  4. Secure the cable with the internal clamp, reassemble the shell, tighten the locking collar.
  5. Continuity-test all pins to the cartridge tags or downstream connectors before use.

Care & Notes

  • Teflon insert is very resilient when soldering.
  • Route the cable to avoid sharp bends immediately at the exit.
  • Clean contacts occasionally with a non-residue contact cleaner.

Returns

For standard cables you can return within 30 days for refund. For sealed connectors the products must be
